The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to trade Brendan Haywood's $10 million expiring contract for next season for a wing player, according to Joe Kotoch of Sheridan Hoops. It's reported Cavaliers GM David Griffin is seeking perimeter help since the team lacked sufficient play from the wing positions.

Potential trade targets are Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan, Memphis forward Jeff Green, and Boston guard Avery Bradley. The Cavaliers have the 24th overall pick in Thursday night's NBA draft, which is also an asset they can utilize in any probable trade.

However, the Cavaliers main priority is to re-sign all their current free agents this offseason, such as LeBron James, Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith, and Matthew Dellavedova.

But improving their wing is also important. J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert would be the only wing players on the team if the two decide to re-sign. Outside of Smith and Shumpert, the Cavaliers have veterans, like Mike Miller and James Jones, but Cleveland will need younger, more athletic pieces to replace those two.

Trading for DeMar DeRozan, Jeff Green, or Avery Bradley may be a long shot, but either one of those players could be much better for the team.

Haywood's $10 million contract is not fully guaranteed, so whichever team trades for him will likely waive him.
