If there was a Most Valuable Player award for overall impact instead of just team impact, Anthony Davis would be at the top of the list. Davis has carried this team all year and did it again tonight against the Warriors. Davis scored 29 points as well as 10 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the Pelicans to a 103-100 win Tuesday night. This win seals up the 8th spot for the Pelicans for now.

"We look at ourselves as an elite team. We feel like we can play with anybody and we can beat anybody on any given night," said Davis, who also grabbed 10 rebounds. "We just got to go out there and play that way."

Stephen Curry had 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists but it wasn't enough for the Warriors. Draymond Green also contributed 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Oklahoma City lost to San Antonio tonight, and it puts the Pelicans a half game ahead of them now in the 8th spot. Curry had a chance at a 3-pointer, but it looked like he got fouled and he ended up missing his attempt. "I thought I drew the foul on the pump fake because he kind of came to me and I got contact," Curry said. "The ball dropped and there was obviously no whistle. I got it right back and I had pretty clean look after that that I thought was going in."

This game was huge for the New Orleans Pelicans. Not only does it momentarily put them in the playoffs, it's a win against the league's best team in the standings. That is a statement win. "We had a heck of a game down the stretch," Pondexter said. "Everyone's hungry. We're young guys, but we're learning how to win."

Golden State play Portland on Thursday.

New Orleans plays Memphis on Wednesday.
