The Kings have arguably the most depressing season thus far, and with losing their head coach and Cousins having been out for a span of games, it seems that their is no bright spot. But, a hint of light shown on Thursday evening. Rudy Gay dropped 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists as the Kings pulled out a close win in Minnesota.

"We feel good about this win, we needed a win bad, but we've got work to do on both ends of the floor," said coach Tyrone Corbin, who had the interim label removed from his job status Wednesday.

Sacramento was up 13 at one point before Minnesota started a run.

"It's a good win," Cousins said. "The biggest thing is that it's showing we can play through adversity, so I think it was a good win for us."

Rookie phenom Andrew Wiggins had 27 points and 9 rebounds in the loss.

The Kings, although depressing, showed some life on Thursday night. All 5 starters scored in the double figures, and they got a much needed win even against a Timberwolves team who has lost 10 straight.

"You can't win a game at the beginning of a game, but you can lose a game by setting the (wrong) tone," coach Flip Saunders said. "We came out with poor energy."
