Victor Oladipo underwent successful surgery to repair a facial fracture on Saturday afternoon and is now expected to be out for one month, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

The 2013 second overall pick suffered the injury during Thursday’s practice when he took an elbow to the face. Oladipo missed all of preseason with an MCL injury and unfortunately wounded up hurting himself before the start of the regular season on October 28.

In his absence, Elfrid Payton will have to carry a heavy load at the point guard position, and Evan Fournier should be the starting two-guard.

Oladipo averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 assists, and 4.1 rebounds during his rookie campaign and was runner-up for Rookie of the Year award behind Michael Carter-Williams. He is expected to up his numbers this season given more minutes since long-time Magic point guard Jameer Nelson gone.

A one month absence will keep Victor Oladipo out for at least 16 games.
