Michael Beasley signed a training camp deal with the Memphis Grizzlies a couple of weeks ago, but he will now leave the team to sign a deal overseas in China, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Beasley will sign with the Shanghai Sharks, the team owned by Yao Ming. The terms of his contract are unknown.

Beasley did not play in the only preseason game for the Memphis Grizzlies due to an illness. He did participate in training camp, though.

In his six-year career, Beasley has averaged 13.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. Beasley will join two other Americans, Quincy Douby and Darnell Jackson, on the Sharks roster. Douby and Jackson are former NBA players.

It seems like Beasley did not want to start over in the NBA after he signed a non-guaranteed deal with Memphis. He wants assurance that he will play this upcoming season, and he could get that in China. Michael Beasley will still be able to return to the NBA late in the season, if teams are interested in signing him once the CBA season is over.
