Channing Frye opted out of his contract with the Phoenix Suns following the end of the regular season. Frye helped the team stay in the playoff race throughout most of the season, before they eventually fell out of the race. Frye is a stretch five that would fit perfectly into the Blazers offense.

The Blazers have limited cap space, and a desperate need for a backup center off of the bench. Channing Frye seems to be the perfect fit for the team. He played last season with the Phoenix Suns, helping them stretch the floor. Frye can shoot jumpers, three pointers, and can do post work. Because of his age he will be shopped for at a low price, which is a huge advantage for the Blazers. With the cap space not being an issure in this deal, the Blazers are just as viable an option as any other team in the league. The difference is that Frye is a perfect fit for the three-point bombing Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers need a big man that will be able to help CJ McCollum score off of the bench, and that is exactly what Frye provides. Look for the Blazers to make a move on Frye sometime this offseason.

Note: Frye is a former Trail Blazer, and is familiar with the organization
