The Atlanta Hawks have had their fair share of good luck with the NBA Draft in the recent past. That hasn't always been the case though. They've had chances to keep Pau Gasol and draft Chris Paul but they eventually passed on both players. It is cool to think about what the perception would be of the Hawks if they had got both Gasol and Chris Paul and kept them on the team.

Holding the 14th and 43rd overall picks, here are four players that Atlanta could pick who might be difference makers for the Hawks in years to come:

One guy that could possibly change the perception of the Hawks, is Small Forward T.J. Warren from N.C. State University who averaged over 24 points per game this past NCAA Basketball season. He averaged over 7 rebounds per game with just about 1 assist per game to go along with the outstanding scoring.

Warren could for sure be a guy the Hawks select at 15th overall. From what he has proven, he could be a high upside guy for the Hawks. The NBA Draft like any draft is all about taking chances though. Only time will tell how good of a player Warren can be. If he can transfer his college game to the pros he, along with Atlanta fans, should not worry at all. We could have a potential NBA All-Star on our hands.

It seems like year in and year out the Kentucky Wildcats basically fill the entire first round of the NBA Draft. In the 2014 NBA Draft, that could also true. The Wildcats have this guy by the name of James Young. Doesn't he already sound like an NBA Star? If he carries over from college to the pros he could be a star.

In this past NCAA Basketball season, Young averaged 14.3 points per game with 4.3 rebounds per game and averaged under one block per game. Those types of numbers makes it seem like he could fit very well in a bench role with the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks are a potential landing spot for the Kentucky star.

Young could join an insane bench of Kyle Korver and Lou Williams depending on some off-season moves the Hawks make in the coming weeks. No matter what team Young ends up on, he's the type of guy that's going to give 110% every second while he is on the court.

Duke University just like the University of Kentucky produces first round pick after first round pick yearly. In 2014 that's going to stay the same. The Atlanta Hawks might look to select Duke standout Rodney Hood with the 15th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Just like other potential picks the Hawks are projected to take, Hood is a SF that could be a great bench piece to add to the steadily improving Hawks roster. Hood could join Atlanta’s potent bench.

In this past NCAA Basketball season, Hood averaged 16.1 points per game with 3.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He was surrounded with other amazing talents, so he already knows what it's like to play with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder.

Hawks fans should get excited if Hood in fact is selected 15th overall, as he has the flare and ability of what could be a team centerpiece. Of course he has some growing to do but the ceiling is high as is usually the case with first round picks. If the Hawks pick Hood, maybe just maybe he could be the steal of the draft and lead the Hawks to several championships in the near future along side Al Horford and up and coming Jeff Teague.

For the second year in a row the Atlanta Hawks could possibly go with an international player with their first round pick. The NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs have had extremely good success with international picks. Their former GM and a former assistant coach is now with the Hawks and for the past couple of years Danny Ferry and Coach Mike Budenholzer have gotten those international guys that no one had heard about.

Dennis Schroeder was an international pick, the Hawks have draft rights to a 7'0" who goes by the nickname Bebe. Bebe has been roaming around his home country Brazil in the past months since been drafting a year ago. Clint Capela may join him as being another big men that the Hawks have draft rights to.

Capela is from Switzerland, and he is a defensive nightmare as noted in a couple of scouting reports. Capela is the type of guy the Hawks want to put in the paint and just to take up space. He's only 20 years old and stands nearly 7 feet tall; some say he could grow some more.

It may be a couple of years before we seen him in a Hawks jersey, we may not at all but either way we will hear about Clint Capela in the very near future. International surprises are always a great story for the NBA.

Overall, the Hawks have some intriguing options with their picks, the first round selection especially. Time will tell if the picks come to fruition, but that is all part of the NBA Draft experience.
