Danny Ainge promised 'fireworks' this summer for his ball club, the Boston Celtics, and the 2014 NBA Draft is his opportunity to set off those fireworks. After finishing 25-57, the Celtics have major improvements to make, and it all begins and ends with the front office.

While Kevin Love rumors have been flying around, in new mock drafts ESPN has former Kansas big-man Joel Embiid falling to the C's at #6.  Drafting Emiid would give the Celtics a possible future franchise center, but with more problems found in Embiid's physical (the former Jayhawks star underwent surgery on his foot and will miss 4-6 months), even a gambler like Ainge might pass up on the big man.

If fireworks are what Danny Ainge promised, then there's no reason to believe he won't deliver.  The Celtics not only have the centerpiece in many Kevin Love rumors, but also have been linked to Carmelo Anthony who as recently as yesterday opted out of the final year of his contract with the New York Knicks.

In a recent interview, Ainge let out his perspective: “We have more than two different scenarios and two different teams, I mean there’s five different scenarios at least — and by draft day there may be more like seven or eight scenarios.  It’s not that simple or just two scenarios. There’s the rebuild and stay young, there’s (the) try-to-win-now scenario, and there is in between.

Danny Ainge knows what has to happen, he has a plethora of draft picks to play with and they are enough to entice most teams to give up some special assets.  Don't expect the Boston Celtics to keep that sixth pick, because by the end of the night we'll probably see "fireworks."
