Since leaving WWE, Ryback has been outspoken on his thoughts on the company and since creating his own podcast he has created a platform to discuss any issues or general thoughts he once had, recently he opened up about the Nexus faction. A forgotten group of NXT 'rookies' who banded together to shock the WWE Universe in one of the greatest Raw segments in recent history who unfortunately ended up amounting to nothing but a case of 'what could have been.'

On its formation

Following the first NXT series it was expected that only Wade Barrett would be debuting on the main roster after winning their series but Ryback recalled the time when he was told that the group was being created. The Big Guy said how they were "brought to TV" and told that they had "one chance, one opportunity" to make an impact and if they didn't they would be "fired."

It's fair to say they did make an impact, stunning the WWE Universe into silence and Ryback stated how they were told to simply "cause chaos" something he believes they did which created a "beautiful moment" that he will always be "thankful for."

Ryback spoke about how far the company went to make the group feel real, telling the new superstars to not "associate with other guys" in an attempt to make the group a solid unit, going as far as to tell them not to even "look" at another superstar if they saw them in the gym.

On Wade Barrett

The leader of the group was Barrett and Ryback had plenty of praise for the British superstar who he claimed was "superior" to everyone else in the group at that time, especially "as far as promos go." The former Intercontinental Champion believes that Barrett "handled the pressure" of being the groups leader both on and off camera and believes that is why he was the leader of the group.
