The whole Paige saga seems to be winding down with her partner Alberto Del Rio currently working his magic on the independent scene while she remains content working for WWE.

Things could have gotten ugly when backstage officials reportedly broke the two up on purpose by sending them to Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live respectively.

While this sounds as if someone in WWE is playing God they were trying to protect each superstar but if anything only halted their careers in a big way.

Paige return

Currently based off of her recent Instagram post, the British performer is supporting Del Rio at his latest indie event in Tijuana, Mexico.

While this may seem as if Paige is choosing allegiances, she is presumably there with permission as she has not been cleared by WWE officials to compete yet.

Despite what was previously thought, given that the 24-year-old was backstage at RAW the past two weeks, we can only speculate that she was there in an effort to be allowed to step back into the squared circle.

The women's division on the red brand is in a rather confusing state, with Sasha Banks set to take on Charlotte for the title once again, in what is becoming a rather repeated version of the events before SummerSlam.

Paige has been one of the best technical performers on the main roster since her debut in April 2014 but ever since the women's revolution took place, she has been placed in a backstage role.

Injury issues

Before her suspension, the Brit was experiencing some kind of nerve damage in her neck extending to her shoulders, a common problem with the male wrestlers.

The injury has been known to have serious repercussions which may be the reason why WWE officials are in no rush to get her back into the ring so soon before they can safely say that she is ready.
