Monday Night Raw has been struggling to catch-up with the quality shows that SmackDown Live have been producing but they planned to get back on equal terms tonight.

Picking the top five moments from such an in-depth three hour show has been hard with all guns blazing towards their pay-per-view at the end of this month.

The red brand featured a number of A-list stars on their show but what five things could we take-away from such an action packed episode of the red brand?

Roman vs. Rusev inside Hell in a Cell

One of the biggest and earliest announcements happened in the opening segment as Roman Reigns was greeted inside the ring by Lana.

The Ravishing Russian came out to agree terms to a rematch, something that the United States Champion took offense to and claimed that Rusev was hiding behind his wife's skirt.

Tired of The Guy's insults towards his significant other, The Bulgarian Brute made his way down to the ring and the pair brawled with Rusev kicking the champ into the WWE Universe.

The former League of Nation's member tried to escape with the U.S. title but out of nowhere came Reigns who hit him with a superman punch.

With the champion standing over his foe he made the statement that he will get his rematch but it will be inside Hell in a Cell.

Kendrick can

Despite the announcement of a title match on last week's episode, this week's match between The Brian Kendrick and TJ Perkins did not feature a title on the line.

The cruiserweight champion squared off against his former mentor and Clash of Champions opponent but this match had a very different ending.

A rake to the eyes of Perkins allowed Kendrick to gain an advantage as he locked in the Captain's Hook forcing the champion to submit.

With the veteran defeating the champion he puts himself in direct contention for a future title shot after proving he can get the job done.

Strowman wants more

Brawn Strowman made his way to the ring and was greeted by a rather confident opponent named Chase Silver who said he had a dream he would "beat up" the former Wyatt family.

However, that dream would remain just that as within a matter of moments it was over and the 33-year-old had claimed another victim.

Byron Saxton bravely stepped into the ring to speak to the victor who said if Mick Foley does not provide him with some "real competition" there may not be a "next week."

It seems finally there may be a conclusion to the domination of Strowman but his opponent for next week remains a mystery with the top contenders The Big Show or Mark Henry.

The best friend's battle

Hollywood came to Monday Night Raw (image: twitter)

Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson finally came face to face with Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens with the battle to see who are the true best of friends finally coming to a head.

Backstage the Hollywood pair made the list of Jericho and were present at ringside as JeriKO squared off against The New Day in their first step forward towards the tag-team titles.

Kutcher and Masterson were on commentary and despite not setting the world alight they were one of the better celebrity guest that WWE have had.

Seth Rollins had the biggest impact of the night as his introduction distracted Owens and Jericho allowing the tag-team champions to pick up the victory.

The Architect still had unfinished business and pounced on a weakened and unsuspecting Y2J and hit the pedigree, while maintaining eye contact on his 'best-friend' The Prizefighter.

When questioned on his actions later in the show Rollins said Stephanie McMahon can no longer control him and that she should grant him his rematch.

Sasha Banks; champion

The culmination of many months came to a head on Raw as Sasha Banks got Charlotte one-on-one with the WWE Women's Title on the line.

Dana Brooke taunted Bayley backstage and was taken out after pushing the former NXT Women's champion too far, leaving her mentor all alone.

The Boss was as confident as ever as she faced The Nature Girl, the moment of the match was seeing the champion perform an inverted moonsault from the top-rope to the outside of the ring taking out the challenger.

Just when it looked as if the champion would retain after she connects with the Natural Selection Banks kicked out and then locked in the Bank Statement.

As The Boss wrenched back, it became too much for Charlotte to take and she was left with no option but to tap out, relinquishing her title to Sasha Banks.

The Nature Girl trudged backstage with tears in her eyes as she claims that the title her foe just snatched from her was 'hers' although she will likely get her chance to earn it back at Hell in a Cell.
