Injuries have hit both Venus and Serena as they have withdrawn from the US Open.

The number of injury withdrawals at the US Open are really beginning to add up. After some headline withdrawals over the last few weeks of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, and others, both Venus and Serena Williams have added themselves to that list of players to not play at Flushing Meadows this year.

Serena said in a statement that she will not play this year as she continues to recover from a torn hamstring injury. Her full statement can be viewed below.

Leg Injury Bothering Venus

As for Venus, she posted an entertaining Twitter video talking about her reasons for not being able to play at the US Open. She said she's had a nagging leg injury as for her reason she won't be playing in New York this year.
