Russian Olympic Committee

The acronym COR stands for Russian athletes because the country was punished for a doping scheme involving the Sochi Winter Games (2014). The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) penalty that reached the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) is valid until 2022. In addition to a neutral flag with the country's colors and the Olympic rings, in Tokyo 2020 the anthem is replaced by an excerpt from a piano concerto that Piotr Ilitch Tchaikovsky composed in 1874. This is not the first time Russia has entered the Olympic Games under a different name, as in Seoul 1988 it was the Soviet Union (USSR) and Barcelona 1992 it was called the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
