In an interview with Sky Sports, Frenchman Henri Leconte spoke about his recent Wimbledon results, where he was never able to win the title, but did reach the semifinals in 1986.

Becker stopped Leconte lifting Wimbledon title

"I never won Wimbledon because there was Boris Becker. Maybe he was my only problem. The first time I reached quarter-finals here I lost to Boris in four sets. And in 1986, I lost in the semi-finals,' the former French player jested. On a serious note, though, he was quick to add, 'For me, it was tough to very difficult to play Boris because he was so powerful, you could take the first set and then you could feel the power and the ball were so heavy."

During his playing career, Leconte managed to reach the quarterfinals in 1985 and a year later went one better and reached the semifinals of Wimbledon.

Leconte talks Murray-Lendl and Raonic-McEnroe partnerships

Leconte then went on to speak about the renewed collaboration between Andy Murray and Ivan Lendl, the Frenchman even commented by saying, "I think for Andy Murray, it's very good to have Ivan coming back. He is the only one who can help Andy win. They won two Grand Slam titles together and I think he needed such a person."

Andy got back together with Ivan Lendl for the grass season and expects their partnership to continue after Lendl oversaw two titles during his two tournaments.

Finally, Leconte talked about John McEnroe's role in Milos Raonic's team. "I think he is more of a counsellor than a coach. He gives suggestions to him on how to go the net and John McEnroe is very useful in that regard," Leconte clarified.
