Andy Murray is now considered the favourite to win his third Grand Slam singles title and, the second title at Wimbledon following the shock third round loss to the two-time defending champion Novak Djokovic at the hands of 28th seed Sam Querrey.

The Scot isn't taking anything for granted, and next for Murray is the 15th seed Nick Kyrgios on Manic Monday.

Kyrgios made his major breakthrough at Wimbledon back in 2014 as he saved multiple match points to defeat Richard Gasquet in the second round and Rafael Nadal in the fourth round but fell to Milos Raonic in the quarterfinals.

Murray enjoys playing against players with a big serve and this should be an entertaining fourth round on Centre Court.

How they got here

Murray's progression through this stage of the tournament has been relatively easy. The second seed played his compatriot Liam Broady in the first round, coming through 6-2, 6-3, 6-4.

In the second round, Murray recovered an early break to battle past Yen-Hsun Lu in straight sets and the Scot recorded another straight sets win over Australian John Millman 6-3, 7-5, 6-2.

Kyrgios has shown maturity in his progress through the draw. The two-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist should have won his first round match over Radek Stepanek in straight sets as he served for the match in the third set but he regrouped and won the match in four 6-4, 6-3, 6-7, 6-1.

The Aussie played his second consecutive match of the tournament on No.2 Court and Kyrgios was a set down and two sets to one down against Dustin Brown but he recovered to win the match in five sets.

Kyrgios showed maturity as he could have lost his head and thrown the match out of the window.

The Aussie had to play on Middle Sunday to complete his third round match against 22nd seed Feliciano Lopez as the pair were tied at 1 sets all before play was halted.

Murray on playing Kyrgios

The Brit on how the media view Kyrgios, "You guys try and wind him up the whole time. Every time he's in here you're trying to wind him up the whole time. It's not really fair on him, to be honest."

The Brit continued, "Nick again, extremely good server. Doesn't play with as much sort of slice, and doesn't come forward. Has performed well in those situations before."

Kyrgios on Murray

Kyrgios acknowledging Murray's strengths, "Obviously, he's one of the best tennis players you can play right now." The Aussie also added, "I've got a game plan, at the same time, we both know what to expect. It's going to be a really fun match."

On the loss at the US Open, "I lost to him at the US Open (in) four sets, I played him in Hopman Cup, beat him there. I definitely feel like he's beatable, he's only human, he's a great athlete, moves extremely well, he knows the game so well. He's practically a brick wall from the back, he's a great returner, can mix it up."

Breakdown of their rivalry

This will be the first meeting between Murray and Kyrgios on grass and this will now complete their set at playing each other at all four Grand Slam tournaments as they met at the other three Grand Slams last year.

The pair have met four times and Murray has a flawless 4-0 head-to-head record, and the pair have played three times on hard courts and once on clay.

Murray won their first meeting at the Rogers Cup in 2014 in straight sets, followed by a win at their first Grand Slam meeting at the Australian Open in 2015 in straight sets in the quarterfinals, and in the third round of the French Open winning in straight sets.

Kyrgios failed to replicate his Wimbledon quarterfinal appearance in 2015, so he dropped his ranking points and was unseeded at the US Open, where he played Murray in the first round, losing in four sets.

Match analysis

Murray is the better mover than Kyrgios and he could throw in a few drop shots to get the Australian off the baseline and dictate play.

Kyrgios has got a big serve and massive forehand which he could do damage to Murray but the Brit enjoys returning against big servers.

The second seed will be desperate to win Wimbledon this year and he sees this as a big opportunity to get his hands on the trophy once more as Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka have crashed out of the draw.

Kyrgios, the 15th seed usually struggles against Murray but on a grass court, his serve is more effective and he could pose more problems for the two-time Grand Slam winner.

This is the final match scheduled on Centre Court and the winner of this match will face 7th seed Richard Gasquet or 12th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarterfinals.

The Centre Court crowd will be firmly behind Murray but Kyrgios will thrive on that and will hope to reach his third Grand Slam quarterfinal and gain his first win over Murray.

Prediction: Kyrgios in four sets.
