Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis were honored at the ITF Champions Dinner, being named the 2015 ITF Women's Doubles World Champions. The team took the 2015 season by storm. The team paired up in the spring of 2015 and did not look back, dominating from their first tournament together to their last of the 2015 season.

Dominating 2015 Season

The team paired up in the spring after they had paired with Su-Wei Hsieh and Flavia Pennetta respectively. SanTina won their first title in Indian Wells and then completed the double in the States, also winning Miami. As if the spring season could not get any better, the team won the Family Circle Cup in Charleston. Their run of titles ended, but they picked it right back off with a bang, winning their first Grand Slam together at Wimbledon and soon won a second one at the US Open . It was a sensational spring and a scintillating summer for the Swiss-Indian duo, but nothing could best their fantastic fall. After the US Open, the pair swept through the Asian swing, winning Guangzhou, Beijing, and Wuhan before finally capping off their season with a title at the WTA Finals.

Same SanTina in 2016

So far in 2016, the team has picked up five titles to date, more than halfway to their total of nine that they won all of last year. The team swept through the Australian summer, winning Brisbane, Sydney, and then the Australian Open, which was their third straight Grand Slam. They continued with a title in St. Petersburg before their rut of title wins was finally ended by Carolina Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic in Stuttgart, and the team defeated them once again in Madrid before they finally won again in Rome.
