If you are a Seattle Reign fan, you probably already know that the Reign will be hosting a NWSL semi-final match on Sunday, September 13th. The opponent is to be determined, but the Reign can do no worse than second place.

All the Reign need to do in order to claim their second straight NWSL Shield is to get one point in their next three games. In reality, that should happen by the end of Wednesday night when they take on the Boston Breakers at Memorial Stadium. Seattle has a record of 16-0-5 (win-loss-tie) since moving to Memorial prior to the 2014 NWSL season.

If you want tickets to this semi-final match on September 13th, tickets will go on sale Thursday morning, August 27th at 9am PST on the Seattle Reign website. It will be their only home game playoff game this season regardless if they finish in first or not.

Wait, why? Didn’t final use to be hosted by the team with the best record? Yes, you are correct, but NWSL recently announced that the final will be played at a neutral site on Thursday, October 1st. That neutral site turns out to be the home of Seattle’s rival, Providence Park home of the Portland Thorns and Portland Timbers of MLS.

If you have been debating on buying tickets to go see the Reign or any team in NWSL, don’t wait much longer. The season is almost over and these ladies are tremendous athletes. It’s pure joy to be able to watch these women play the game they love the most.

Two teams are fighting for the final playoff spot in the Washington Spirit and the Thorns. A loss by Portland this week will eliminate them from contention. The Spirit is the only team that can bypass Seattle for the number one spot if Seattle loses their last three games.

That semi-final match is tentatively scheduled for 9:30pm EST and can be seen on FOX Sports 1.
