Many knew that when the MLS All-Star Fan XI starters were announced, it was gonna be players who crossed your mind the first time you hear "All-Stars." The roster was announced this past Monday, and lo and behold, there are some all-stars on the squad. To highlight the squad, you have players such as Kaka. Or David Villa, Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey

But what you don't have are two of the league’s best players this season. Why? Well it's solely based on popularity, or the clubs star players. There is no love for players who put on the show for the league, or for their own particular club who was part of the Original 96.

Leader in assists, Ethan Finlay, and leader in goals scored, Kei Kamara, were both left off of the fan squad. And to much surprise, they were not upset at all. Disappointed, yes, but not upset. They must not be fan favourites.

Finlay, who leads the league in assists at 10, stated that he's "not losing sleep over it." (per Andrew King/mlssoccer.com) It almost seems like; Finlay doesn't want to be on the All-Star Squad. The recognition would be nice, yes, but the selection of fans doesn't faze him.

Kamara, well let's say that he thought it was funny. While he is feeling the same way, he was enjoying all the tweets and comments on how Columbus Crew SC fans, and fans of him were outraged that he wasn't named to the roster.

Both players would love to be a part of the final 32 man roster, which is chosen by head coach Pablo Mastroeni. But, they wouldn't be upset if they aren't chosen. Kamara has already said that if he's not chosen, he'll be another player joking about the selections on Twitter.

Of course fans were disappointed, but so were some former players. Such as Dante Washington, who played for the Crew in 1996, 2000-2002 and again from 2004-2005. Washington took to Twitter, saying:

"My mind is blown between @MLS all star announcement, and #USMNT performance so far."

Washington later took to Twitter again, giving Kamara and Finlay a message that, that's not the only time that this has happened by saying:

"Been there @keikamara and @EthanFinlay13 but keep doing your thing. #CrewSC #MLSAllStar."

Finlay, still having hoped tweeted that there are still players to be named. His tweet:

"Still 10 players to be announced..... #MLS #AllStarGame

If Mastroeni chooses the dynamic duo, it will be interesting to see how they can bring their flare to the MLS All-Star Squad against a dominate Tottenham Hotspur team.
