The New England Revolution can move atop the MLS Supporters' Shield standings by winning a fourth straight meeting with host Sporting KC on Wednesday night in the 100th game at Sporting Park.

The Revolution (5-2-4) haven't lost since the beginning of the season when they opened with two road defeats and trail D.C. United and FC Dallas by two points for the most in the league. New England, however, had a three-game winning streak snapped in a 2-2 draw with Orlando City 2 weeks ago after scoring the first two goals, then lost another second-half lead in a 1-1 draw with Toronto FC on Saturday.

Former Sporting Kansas City forward Teal Bunbury scored twice as the Revolution snapped a six-game winless streak against KC by sweeping all three meetings last season. New England's 3-2 win Sept. 26 ended an 0-6-2 stretch in Kansas City.

Sporting (3-2-5) enters this matchup well-rested after its match with Colorado was postponed due to inclement weather Saturday. Midfielder Graham Zusi was considered doubtful against Colorado after suffering a concussion against D.C. The extra down time certainly will help with Zusi's recovery, but his status for Wednesday is unclear.

Sporting KC and New England have met 50 times in the regular season with SKC leading the series 23-16-11.

Quotes:

"We're going to see who we feel can turn around from Saturday and play Wednesday. But we also have a thought process of what we want to do Wednesday and Saturday coming up. There are definitely three or four players (who don't start regularly) each week that we want or feel that could start."- New England coach Jay Heaps.
