The stalemate between Von Miller and the Denver Broncos is officially over.

After weeks of an intense standoff between Von Miller and the Denver Broncos, the reigning Super Bowl MVP has announced that he has come to terms on a new deal with the team. The deal is for six-years, $114 million and includes $70 million guaranteed. For weeks there was tension between Miller and the Broncos management but it appears that is done with as the Broncos have locked up Miller for six more years.

Miller gets a mega deal

Von Miller will now get the second-most guaranteed money in the NFL, just behind Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck who will make $87 million in his contract. It is the largest contract for a non-quarterback in league history, and Miller was certainly worthy of the deal.

The deal had to get done as Miller threatened to sit out and not play if  a long-term contract couldn't get reached. The Broncos had to do it after already losing multiple key defensive pieces in free agency. These players included Malik Jackson and linebacker Danny Trevathan.

Von Miller took to Instagram Friday afternoon to share the news posting this picture:

What it means now

For the Broncos, they have their 27-year-old pass rusher locked up for the foreseeable future. The team realistically has a chance to defend their Super Bowl title due to the strength of their defense. Last season Miller was the best player on the Broncos and having him back will mightily improve their chances of having success this season.

Whether or not the Broncos can defend their Super Bowl championship, the fans, as well as the organization, will sure be glad to see Von Miller back this season in as well as for many years in the future.
