Jackson has been highly touted as a potential head coach the last few weeks after his recent success and growth with Andy Dalton in Cincinnati, as well as his brilliant offensive mind and schemes.

Jackson had previously been the Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator in 2010 and head coach in 2011, where he was fired after going 8-8 in one season with the Raiders. He then was hired as the Bengals assistant special teams coach and then was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2014 after former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden took the Washington Redskins head coaching job.

Jackson inherits a Browns teams that is coming off yet another tumultuous season with many issues of their own, specifically the constantly troubled Johnny Manziel and Josh Gordon. According to a tweet from Ian Rappoport, Hue Jackson has informed the team he plans on moving on from Manziel.

The Hue Jackson Era in Cleveland will trigger the end of Johnny Manziel and the #Browns. Expect the new coach to move on from the QB.

Jackson informing the Browns he does not foresee "Johnny Football" clearly points to the team moving forward and most likely selecting a quarterback with the second overall pick in this year's NFL Draft. Possibly just another first round quarterback drafted for the franchise three times since 2007.

The hiring of Hue Jackson could be the move that gets the Browns organization on the right track to climb out of the deep, dark hole of the NFL's basement here in the near future. Jackson has had success wherever he has been, so the Browns need to hope that Jackson is finally the right guy for the team, as he will be the eighth head coach of the Browns since 2000.
