Rough, frustrating, stunning.

These are just three terms that could be put to use to describe what was Week One for the Seattle Seahawks.

In their 34-31 loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, the Seahawks did not appear to play as they can be expected to - but struggles in the opening game of the season are not anything new for the team.

Russell Wilson is now .500 exactly in season-opening games and coach Pete Carroll is now 5-6 on opening day in the NFL.

All in all, there were no irremediable issues in Sunday's game. Communication seems to have been the largest one, but given the track record of this squad, that should improve drastically in the coming weeks.

The play calling from Russell Wilson can be said to have been a bit concerning. He who threw many screens and didn't keep the ball once on a read option play - but hopefully this was just Seattle's plan to deal with St. Louis' ferocious front seven.

Seahawks fans should expect smoother play from the Seahawks next week, but if the Seahawks do drop another to start the season 0-2, there should not be a mad panic about the rest of this season; remember: just last year the New England Patriots started out 2-2, and went on to win the Super Bowl 15 weeks later after being widely written off.
