Andrew Luck will have his favorite receiving target for the foreseeable future as T.Y. Hilton has agreed to a 5-year contract extension with the Indianapolis Colts.

T.Y. Hilton's new contract will be for $65 million with $39 million guaranteed.

Signing Hilton to a contract extension was priority number 1 for the Colts as the fourth-year wide out is entering the last year of his rookie contract. Hilton is coming off his first Pro Bowl appearance after posting 82 receptions for 1,345 yards last season and establishing himself as the number 1 option in the passing game.

With Hilton under contract for the next 6 years the Colts organization hopes they see a quarterback/wide receiver duo that resembles that of Peyton Manning's run with Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne.

"It's a great day for the Indianapolis Colts, T.Y. Hilton and his family," Colts general manager Ryan Grigson said. "We're extremely happy as an organization to ensure that T.Y. will continue to be a part of our journey for many years to come. His daily excellence on and off the field is a shining example of an individual striving for greatness and what it truly means to be a Colt."

Earlier this offseason there were a lot of rumors and speculation how new wide receiver rookie Phillip Dorsett could be Hilton's eventual replacement but it's clear the team envisions Hilton and Dorsett as a deadly 1-2 duo in the near future.

Hilton's contract is set up for him to earn $13 million per year, which is just below the tier of Dez Bryant's and DeMaryius Thomas' newly signed deals that'll pay them $14 million a year.

Hilton's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, met with the Colts on Wednesday, August 13, for the third time since August 1st. Rosenhaus will now move on to negotiate a new contract for another star wide receiver client in Antonio Brown with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
