It’s no secret that Joe Haden is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. His talent and leadership to the Cleveland Browns is irreplaceable. But, something most people don’t know about Joe is his continued support and love for the city of Cleveland. Ever since Joe was drafted he has embraced the city, its people, and most importantly, Browns fans

Cleveland drafted Haden with the 7th pick in the 2010 NFL draft. Since then, Haden has been an integral piece of the defense. Now that he has been in the league a few years, Joe is accepting his role as a leader. During 5 years with the Browns he has picked off 16 passes including 6 during his rookie campaign. Joe has made 2 Pro Bowls in his career and will be a big part of the Browns plans moving forward.

Most everyone has noticed Joe’s loyalty and commitment to his fans. If you have ever been to an autograph session or visited Browns training camp, you would see that Joe signs nearly every autograph and is usually out there signing longer than anyone. If you see him walking around Cleveland or its surrounding areas and ask for a picture, he will do it. Haden also holds his annual softball game, money raised from this event is donated to charity. Recently he was named a Global Ambassador for the Special Olympics. Joe is a frequent visitor of Cleveland Cavalier games and was one of their biggest fans during this years Finals run. The cornerback also owns his own business in downtown Cleveland, a sneaker store called The Restock. It is obvious Joe Haden does more for the city of Cleveland than just play football.

Players and people like Joe don’t come around often. He gives more to the city of Cleveland and his fans than most athletes are expected. The Browns have done some good things in the past couple years and are a team on the rise. If the Browns are going to be successful this upcoming season, Joe will have to have the secondary playing at an elite level. It is frequent that players move from team to team in the NFL. But good news for Cleveland, Haden signed a 5 year extension last off-season.
