DeMarco Murray is on his way to Philadelphia today to sign with the Eagles. Murray personally reached out to Eagles Coach Chip Kelly on Wednesday, expressing his intent to sign with the Eagles and his desire to play in Kelly's system. This comes a day after the Eagles came to terms with RB Ryan Matthews on a three-year, $11.5 million deal.

Murray, the 2014 leading rusher in the league (1,845 yards), had issues staying healthy in previous seasons. The Cowboys have had a number of opportunities to re-sign Murray throughout last season but chose to focus on WR Dez Bryant instead. Most teams have been hesitant to offer Murray big money due to the injury issue and his workload in 2014 that had him carrying the ball 392 times.

Murray played college football for Oklahoma, where he was a teammate of newly acquired Eagles QB Sam Bradford. Bradford said he did a bit of recruiting to rejoin Murray in Dallas.

When asked, Bradford said, "Absolutely. I've been trying my hardest. I've called him. I've texted him. I've done everything. We've been in communication. If we can somehow land him, it would be a great pickup. Not only is he a great player, he's a great person. He's a really close friend of mine, too. I think he can really help this ball club."

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the deal is expected to be five years, $42 million, with $21 million guaranteed.
