The Arizona Cardinals did exactly what they needed to do, and that was get a big win against a division foe. It wasn't pretty by any means, but the Cardinals managed to defeat the St. Louis Rams 12-6, despite losing their second string quarterback, Drew Stanton to a right knee injury. Both quarterbacks were taking hits all game long and it finally bit the already injury plagued Cardinals.

Chandler Catanzaro was perfect on his four field goals to provide the only offense the Cardinals could muster. The same went for the Rams as they only got two short field goals from Greg Zuerlein. The Arizona Cardinals defense absolutely shut down the St. Louis offense, giving up nothing on the ground and knocking down Shaun Hill nearly every drop back, completion or not.

The Cardinals did their part to clinch a playoff spot this week. Now all they need is for there to be a decided winner and loser of the Cowboys and Eagles matchup on Sunday. Only a tie between the two teams will keep the Cards from being playoff bound for the first time since 2009.

The Cardinals get an extended break before playing the Seattle Seahawks at home on December 21.
