The Baltimore Ravens had everything working for them this afternoon versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Their offensive line blocked for Joe Flacco, the offense made big plays, the defense made stops and so fourth. For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers it was kind of the opposite. Nothing was going right. You'd think that coming off the Buccaneers loss to the New Orleans Saints last week that they would play much better. They took a downhill turn this afternoon against the Ravens.

In Lovie Smith's game while on the Chicago Bears versus Joe Flacco and the Ravns his team surrendered four touchdowns. Tonight, the Bucs defense gave up five touchdowns. Lovie Smith must haven't been able to figure out how to stop the Ravens.

By halftime, it was 38 to nothing Ravens. It was clear that it was going to be a long day for the Buccaneers and that the Ravens were going to dominate. According to CBS Sports, made the Bucs the first team in NFL history to trail by that many points at home at halftime. Joe Flacco had all the time in the world to throw the ball. Bucs quarterback Mike Glennon barely got any of the throws made because of the lack of protection. The Buccaneers have been out scored 123-27 in the first half. This has to change fast for the Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers showed signs of life in the second half, scoring 17 unanswered points. The offense looked it's best this half. Mike Evans and Louis Murphy both caught touchdown passes. Bobby Rainey had some long runs and suddenly they were looking like the team they should have all game. Mason Foster, Bucs play caller the linebacker, came back from an injury and so did Mike Evans. Vincent Jackson barely showed up during this game. The defense put no pressure on Joe Flacco the whole game.

Lovie Smith had this to say following the game, "But 1-5 says we’re not a good football team, and we’re not a good football team. It’s kind of simple as that. It was total domination on their part and it shouldn’t have been that type of game.’’

Defensive leader Gerald McCoy has this to say following the game What happened today was (a result) of a lot of guys just doing their job,’’ McCoy said. “And we hear that all the time – just do your job. But in the NFL it has to be about more than that."
