Houston Texans outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney may be about to make the inactive liste for the first time in his career next week when the Texans go to Oakland to face the Raiders.

In the second quarter of Houston's 17-6 win over the Washington Redskins, Jadeveon Clowney landed awkwardly on his right knee after going up to attempt blocking a pass. Clowney would limp off to the sideline with a look of frustration on his face. Clowney would attempt to come back in the game, but couldn't shake the limp off.

The injury is being described as a grade 3 MCL injury, which is a cause for return in one to four weeks. But the Texans caught a bullet that it wasn't the ACL, where Clowney would likely miss the season.

Now the Texans will just hope that the injury is what it is being reported, which would keep Clowney away from the surgery table and off the field for a long period of time.

Clowney had a couple more injuries during the preseason. One a sports hernia, the other a concussion. With this being his third injury, people may begin to speculate if he was a dud due to being hurt often.

But a compliment to Clowney is that he wanted to come back into the game despite the pain, compared to when he skipped an entire game in college without warning his coaches. Clowney is trying to play with heart. He proved that he has the heart to play in Houston today.

Clowney will undergo for tests tomorrow to determine what treatment is needed. If it is an extended amount of time he will miss, the Texans will hope he is not needed next week against the Raiders.
