THE GAME KICKS OFF
The match is underway at the Camping World Stadium.
Brian Brohm: "It's a big-time atmosphere"
"The Citrus Bowl experience has been great for our team. We worked very hard to get to this point. It's a big-time Bowl game, a big-time atmosphere. Just all the events, all the excitement leading up to this game, to be able to face a great opponent in LSU, a team that made it to the SEC Championship Game."
Drew Brees, luxury booster for Purdue
Purdue comes into the Citrus Bowl with new faces, an interim head coach and a luxury assistant in the form of former Boilermakers quarterback Drew Brees, who will serve as an assistant coach.
Brees as Purdue's quarterback; he led all-time at the school in air yards (11,792), passing completions (1,026) and touchdown passes (90).
In his senior year, he won the Maxwell Award (nation's most outstanding player) and led the Boilermakers to the Rose Bowl.
Brees added to his successful collegiate career, a great NFL career, so your support will be very important to what he can accomplish while on the Boilermakers bench.
Jayden Daniels: "I wanted to come back and compete."
"Ultimately, it was the best decision for me to go back and accomplish things that I feel like I need to grow in," Daniels said Saturday. "I felt like I had unfinished business in college. I wanted to come back and compete for a national championship."
Brian Kelly: "It's going to be an exciting game."
"These guys want to play," said head coach Brian Kelly. "That's the best thing about it. The guys that are going to be on that field want to be there, they want to represent their universities and they want to play the game the right way. It's going to be an exciting game."
