It was a tough loss for Boise State to swallow as they lost to another BYU Hail Mary. Tanner Mangum's 4th down touchdown pass gave BYU the 28-24 lead late in the 4th quarter. Then Ryan Finley threw a devastating pick six that essentially sealed the game for Boise State.

It was a tough game for Boise quarterback Ryan Finley and the offense. Although they had good production from their wide receivers, Jeremy McNichols and the running backs failed to give Boise any running support. If Boise wants to have a convincing win over Idaho State, 64 rushing yards is not enough. Ryan Finley also has to play better. This will be his third start under center for Boise and the coaching staff will be hoping that he will improve after his poor effort in Provo

But thankfully, the Boise State defense played well against BYU. They had multiple turnovers and forced the BYU offense to struggle all night. With the exception of the last ditch Hail Mary, Boise State's defense showed its the strength of this team.

Boise needs a bounce back game and with a chip on their shoulder, and they are facing Idaho State, a team in the Big Sky that has gone 1-1 so far this season.

They will be facing an Idaho State team that loves to throw the ball and will test the Boise State secondary. After Justin Arias, an All American QB, graduated, Michael Sanders has stepped in nicely for the Bengals. Idaho State is averaging almost 300 yards per game through the air and it could cause Boise State problems. Some members of the secondary struggled against BYU so expect a lot of throwing from the Idaho State offense. Boise State's defense has only given up 50 yards on the ground on average per game so it gives Idaho State even more cause to throw.

This sort of thing happened to Boise State last year when they lost to the Air Force. Many wrote off this Boise team as in years prior, one loss ruined BCS Bowl hopes for the Blue. But after the Air Force loss, the Broncos didn't lose a single game for the rest of the year. Even in the Fiesta Bowl against Arizona, Boise State rode that momentum into a win.

After losing a tough game, Boise State will look to comeback. After tough losses, this Boise team has bounced back in years previous and even under new head coach Brian Harsin, they bounced back last year. They will look to do it again against a Idaho State team that loves to pass the ball and will test out this Boise State team.

The game will be shown on the CBS Sports Network in Boise, Idaho
