The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks 74-62 to advance to the SEC semifinals against Arkansas. The loss snapped a three game win streak the Gamecocks had compiled, dating back to the end of the regular season.

The Bulldogs were led by Marcus Thornton, who scored 15 points before fouling out late in the game. Yante Maten tied his career high in points with 13, and grabbed a career high 10 rebounds.

The Gamecocks were led by Duane Notice, who scored 20 points, while Sindarius Thornwell and Laimonas Chatkevcius both added 10 points.

The big story of the game was Georgia's inability to maintain a second half lead. They led 33-26 at halftime, with their second half lead being as much as 12, but a 15-3 run by South Carolina quickly erased that, as they took the lead early in the second half.

The game was tied at 57 with 5:23 left in the second half. The Bulldogs, led by Maten, recovered to regain the lead, a lead which they never relinquished, thanks to a 17-5 run late.

The Bulldogs advance to the tournament swmifinals against Arkansas tomorrow, while South Carolina waits for a potential call from the NIT.
