The Minnesota Golden Gophers started the Big 10 tournament off right with a 80-68 win over conference newcomer Rutgers.

Joey King led the Gophers with 20 points scored, with Carlos Morros adding 16 and Nate Mason adding 15 points. Andre Hollins was the only Gophers starter who did not score in double digits, as he had a rare game where he did not score at all.

Rutgers was led by Kadeem Jack, who scored 18 points. Myles Mack and Bishop Daniels both added 15 points, and Mack even played all 40 minutes of the game, but it was not enough as the Gophers pulled away late to win.

The Gophers advance to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes on Thursday night. The last time they met, the Gophers made it interesting late, but the Buckeyes pulled out the victory. Here is the full schedule for tomorrow.
