LSU was able to leave Vanderbilt with a win as it took extra minutes to beat the Commodores.

In yet another exiting SEC basketball game, LSU was able to finally close out Vanderbilt after missed free throws allowed the game to get into overtime. Vanderbilt fought extremely hard to defend their home court, but in the end allowed LSU to put them away once the extra period started.

Behind Kentucky, the two biggest froncourts in the entire nation is a tie. Between who? No other than the froncourts of LSU and Vanderbilt.

For Vanderbilt they came out with the starting frontcourt of:

Damian Jones -  6'10" 240lbs

Josh Henderson - 6'11" 240lbs

For LSU the starters in the frontcourt would be:

Darcy Malone - 7'0" 240lbs

Jarell Martin - 6'10" 235lbs

Jordan Mickey - 6'8" 235lbs

Looking at the box score, minus Darcy Malone, LSU's frontcourt definitely won the battle in this game. Jordan Mickey, who is 2nd in the SEC in rebounding and first in the SEC in blocks, finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Mickey's would only block one shot during the game. As for his running mate Jarell Martin, who is 4th in scoring and 3rd in rebounding, ended this game with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

For Vanderbilt, they would have a big performance from a big man, the only thing is, he would come off their bench. Their biggest performance would be from Luke Kornet. The 7 footer came off of the bench to score 22 points and 6 rebounds. Wade Baldwin IV scored 18 points and went 4 of 4 from dowtown.

In the end Tim Quarterman of LSU scored 6 of his 12 points in overtime to help secure the win over a very talented Vanderbilt team that really brought the fight.

This win will be huge for LSU as they have already been recieving votes and are currently just outside the top 25. With this big SEC win as well as teams like #25 Iowa losing, LSU should soon find themselves in the top 25.
