The Ohio State Buckeyes dominated on the football field last night. Michigan came into this game hoping they wouldn't do the same on the basketball court. 

Michigan started on a fast start as Zach Irvin hit a three on their first possession. The game then got to a fast start as they two teams sat even at 9-9 during the first TV timeout. Irvin than burried another three to give Michigan a short-lived lead. Ohio State then went on a 15-2 run to put them up by double digits. 

Michigan tried to win the game with their outside shooting, but, for the time being, the shots weren't falling. To make things worse for Michigan Derrick Walton picked up his second foul with 10:04 remaining in the half. Michigan's Chris LeVert finally ended the Ohio State run with a three-pointer, but Ohio State out muscled Michigan for a rebound once again. At this point in the contest Michigan trailed 16-9 in the rebounding category.

With about five minutes left in the half, down 15, Michigan needed to find a spark. However, the Wolverines could not find the ignition and they entered the half down 39-24. In the first half Ohio State's defense held the Wolverines to just 37 percent from the field. In the first half Michigan attempted zero costless throws and turned the ball over eight times. Michigan also shot just 4-13 from three.

The start of the second half did not go much better for Michigan as they started 0-12 from the field. Ohio State then went on another run and led by as many as 28 at one point.

The Wolverines never found an answer for the intensity of the OSU defense. Their play also became much worse as they game went on. 

Michigan shot just 6-for-26 from three. Chris LeVert led Michigan with 14 points on 4-for-10 shooting. Zach Irvin was the only other double-digit scorer for Michigan as he has 11. Michigan attempted a total of only four costless throws in the contest. Derrick Walton couldn't stay out of foul trouble and scored just 2 points on 1-for-7 shooting. 

Ohio State shot 49 percent from the field and recorded a impressive 11 steals. D'Angelo Russell scored 21 points on 6-for-12 shooting. 

Ohio State will next take on Iowa on January 17th at 2:00 PM EST. Michigan will next take on Northwestern on January 17th at 8:15 PM EST.
