Kentucky got off to a slow start giving up the first nine points in an environment where they could not afford a large deficit. The Wildcats were behind by as much as 11 in the first half and trailed for the majority of the game.

The Wildcats came out of halftime down by three and quickly took a lead only to be punched back by Texas A&M. From then and until the end of the game it became a brawl between the two teams.

There would be moments where it seemed as though the Aggies were shying away and Kentucky would run away with the lead they held. Texas A&M showed they have the fight, even without their top scorer Jalen Jones, to hang with the best team in the nation. An energized crowd helped the Aggies get the game tied late in regulation and force OT as Aaron Harrison missed a potential game winning shot.

Overtime was a slow contest as Kentucky was first to strike when Devin Booker attacked the rim to score the layup and get fouled. After Booker missed the costless throw a defensive battle ensued as the next score came with 2:51 left on a costless throw by Tavario Miller to make it 55-54.  Another drought occurred and the next score game around a minute later as Danuel House scored two costless throws to give the Aggies a one point lead. The Wildcats would not be able to convert in their possession and would be forced to foul where Tavario Miller made one of two costless throws to make it 57-55 with 0:27 remaining. Aaron Harrison would then attempt a two point jumper and Trey Lyles would rebound and go up and get fouled with 0:06 left in OT. Lyles would sink both costless throws to tie the game and Alex Robinson would miss a game winning shot at the buzzer.

Double overtime began in a more fast paced manner, as the teams traded baskets until Lyles took the lead for UK 63-61 with a 15-foot jumper. The Aggies came back down and Danuel House hit two costless throws to tie the game with 2:00 remaining. Tyler Ulis, scoreless for the other 45 minutes and change of the game, hit a 3-point jump shot to give Kentucky a cushion with 1:26 left. Kourtney Roberson would go to the line and only make one of two to cut the lead 66-64. The Wildcats would then get a defensive stop and then Dakari Johnson would knock down two clutch costless throws with 0:14 seconds in 2OT. Peyton Allen would miss a 3-point shot and Devin Booker would hit two costless throws to give Kentucky a 70-64 win in College Station.

Foul Trouble

Willie Cauley Stien- Fouled out with 4:29 left in regulation but only collected 4 points, 3 blocks and 6 rebounds. Playing two overtimes without a veteran like Cauley-Stein hurt Kentucky.

Karl-Anthony Towns- Fouled out with 2:51 left in OT and had 9 points, 3 blocks and 9 rebounds as the Wildcats biggest inside force against the Aggies.

Aaron Harrison- Fouled out with 2:00 remaining in 2OT to add to the list of Kentucky's top scorers out of the game. Harrison had a decent game with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. He only went 4-20 from the feild.

Kourtney Roberson- Fouled out with 0:14 left in 2OT and grabbed 11 points and 8 rebounds in a well-rounded effort for the Aggie.

Key Players

Danuel House- Had a game high 25 points and fell 1 rebound short of a double-double. He continued the trend of players starting the game hot against Kentucky, getting 12 points in the first 13 minutes.

Devin Booker- Collected 18 points and went 4-7 from behind the arc. Booker also hit two costless throws at the end of the game to secure the win for Kentucky.

Kourtney Roberson- Roberson was a couple boards short of a double-double but made his impression on the game. Scoring 11 points and going 5-13 from the field.

Karl-Anthony Towns- The big man gathered 9 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks in a game where he could have played extra minutes. Towns was mostly a defensive threat down low.
