Louisville had this game from the start to the very finish. David Levitch a walk on for the Cardinals made his first career start as Terry Rozier came off the bench because he missed a class earlier in the week. Louisville tied a season high in three-point field goal percentage as they won 82-57.

The Golden Panthers tried to make things interesting as they were down 10-8 at the beginning of the game. But after that the Cardinals sprung to a 24-10 lead. Anton Gill made a three-pointer in the 1st half which was his first three-pointer in a couple games even though he was recruited as a sharp shooter. The Cardinals took a 36-23 lead into the half.

The second half was not any different. Louisville started the 2nd half on a 16-4 run and never looked back. Louisville made right threes in the game while Anton Gill had 15 points. If Louisville wants to have any chance in the ACC, Gill will have to continue making shots off the bench. Dennis Marvin led the Panthers with 15 points. Montrezl Harrell had his 3rd consecutive double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Five Cardinals scored score 11 or more points.

"This team hunts points and that is why they don't look as good as the past three years," Louisville coach Rick Pitino said.

The MVP of this game was Anton Gill. He earned this honor despite Montrezl Harrell having a double-double. He showed life off the bench for this struggling offense. If the Cardinals are able to have more players like him contribute on a nightly basis off the bench then they will be as good as any other team in the country.
