The #14 Arizona State Sun Devils propelled themselves into sole possession of the PAC-12 South with a dramatic 19-16 overtime win over the #17 Utah Utes.

Arizona State's kicker Zane Gonzalez did the honors of kicking the game winning 36 yard field goal, his fourth of the game. It was all set up after Utah kicker Andy Phillips, who is one of the nations best kickers, missed his first attempt of a 35 yard field wide right. The kick was nullified by a Utah timeout. Phillips had a second chance at the same exact kick and missed it by over correcting his first attempt and pulled it left. Phillips made his previous three field goals.

Arizona State had their offense rolling in the first half as they moved the ball at will until they reached Utah's side of the field. The Sun Devils had to settle for two field goals in the first quarter, but they scored their only touchdown of the game in the second quarter on a six yard pass from Taylor Kelly to, guess who, Jaelen Strong.

Both teams merely flipped roles in each respective half. Arizona State had success on offense while Utah couldn't really muster up anything in the first half and Arizona State struggled mightily in the second half on offense when Utah ran the ball at will for a good portion of the half.

Utah had 184 of their 241 total yards of offense on the ground, yet they scored their lone touchdown in the air. A four yard pass from Travis Wilson to Devontae Booker. Speaking of Devontae Booker, Booker nearly accounted for all of Utah's offense as he rushed for 146 yards. Although that may look bad for the Arizona State defense, they limited Utah to just 57 passing yards and ultimately just the 241 yards of total offense.

With the defense firing on all cylinders and the offense playing solid enough to win games, next Saturday's holy grail of a matchup against the #10 Notre Dame Fighting Irish is bound to be another miraculous college football game.
