This is the perfect start for Mississippi State as they've forced Texas A&M into untimely turnovers and have shut down their high powered offense. Mississippi State has dominated with their running game on offense and have A&M looking for answers on defense If A&M is to have any chance of coming back they're going to have to stop the run and make plays in the passin game.

12:01 PM EST: It has been almost 30 years since two top 15 teams have squared off in Starkville.

12:00 PM EST: I could see this game to easily turn into a shootout with both quarterbacks playing at the top of their game. Turnovers will ultimately decide this contest.

11:54 PM EST: Today could bring multiple upsets as there are a number of top 25 teams facing each other as in this game coming up. #2 Oregon has already been upset couple days ago by Arizona St. so anything is fair game today.

11:52 PM EST: We're only minutes away from kickoff in what should be a close game from start to finish.

11:06 PM EST: This game has huge playoff implications with both teams being ranked in the top 12. The winner will be in a great spot as A&M could move into the top 5 with a win and the Bulldogs would easily be in the top 10. Now it's still early in the season as we're barely in week 6 of the season but in the gridiron that is the SEC, every win carries great credibility in the eyes of the viewers. Both of these squads have challenging games left against Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss, so a win here is critical for both sides with so many tough remaining games on their schedule. On the flip side, this isn't a make or break game for either team as there's still half the season left to be played. It's beginning to look like the SEC will have a good shot at getting two teams into the college playoffs with all the quality teams there seem to be in the conference. At the same time the strength of the conference could also be a negative factor if everyone beats up on each other and results in no one or two teams going undefeated or sustaining only 1 loss the entire season. Case in point, this game means a lot to both teams and we could be in store for a classic matchup.

11:05 PM EST: Both teams are led by great quarterbacks, Dak Prescott of MSU and Kenny Hill from A&M. Prescott and Hill are both great team managers are capable of making big plays at any moment of time. Both team defenses will be focused on putting pressure on the other team's quarterback and forcing a turnover or two in their favor. Whoever can do that will have the best chance of winning this football game.

11:04 PM EST: The Mississippi State Bulldogs on the other hand are coming off a bye week after a trip to Baton Rouge where they picked up a marquee victory over LSU. The week off is key in Mississippi State preparing themselves mentally and emotionally for this week's showdown after being on such an emotional high after defeating the Tigers. If the Bulldogs come out with more energy than the Aggies it may creep some doubt into their opponent's mind. The Bulldogs will look to build an early lead in order to put all the pressure and doubt on the Aggies as it would be a second week in a row with another slow start. The Aggies played a very physical game last week while MSU was sitting at home resting. Advantage, Mississippi State.

11:03 PM EST: The Aggies are coming off an impressive come from behind win against Arkansas in which they scored 21 unanswered points to get the win in overtime. Kenny Hill looked human for the first time this season, but he caught fire late in the game. Arkansas had great success running the ball, totaling 285 yards on the ground. They built a 28-14 lead before eventually running out of gas and letting the Aggies pass their way back into the game. A&M would go on to win in overtime, 35-28. This was the first game the Aggies had against a legitimate opponent since their week 1 win over South Carolina. This could have been a case of A&M not being mentally prepared for Arkansas and hence the slow start. It'll be important for the Aggies to start off fast against Mississippi State if they're leave Starkville with a win.

11:02 PM EST: Now A&M is well known for their explosive offensive and play making ability both on the ground and even more so through the air. A&M’s passing offense ranks 5th in the nation with 401 YPG through the air while MSU’s passing defense ranks only 124th allowing 319 YPG. A&M have multiple weapons in the passing game with receivers such as Speedy Noil, Ricky Seals-Jones, Malcome Kennedy and of course early Heisman candidate Kenny Hill. Advantage, A&M. Finally A&M’s rushing offense averages 193 YPG which is good enough for 44th in the nation while MSU only allows an impressive 83 YPG good enough for 7th in the nation. Advantage, MSU. On paper this seems like a classic matchup that should come down to whichever team wins the turnover battle will win the game.

11:01 PM EST: On paper many may think A&M has the superior talent on offense but MSU has a well balanced offense that could give the A&M defense fits. MSU’s rushing offense ranks 15th in the nation with 271 YPG and is going up against an A&M rushing defense that allows 157 YPG and ranks only 67th. MSU running back Josh Robinson is a big reason for the Bulldogs strong running attack as he's averaging just under 8 yards per carry and 120 per game. In last year's game against the Aggies Robinson averaged 12 yards a carry. Advantage, MSU. MSU’s passing offense and A&M’s passing defense both are ranked 46th in the nation so it’ll be interesting which side wins this particular battle. Advantage, even.

11:00 PM EST: #6 Texas A&M will take on #12 Mississippi State in a clash of top 25 SEC West foes Sunday, October 4th in Starkville at 11:00 CST. Both teams are undefeated coming into this matchup that has the potential to be an early season classic game. That’s a statement that hardly anyone would have predicted to have playoff implications for the winner and loser. Mississippi State had sleeper potential going into this season but no one could have predicted they’d upset LSU on their own turf and start the year off at 4-0.
