Bowling Green's touchdown with 9 seconds left proved to be a fitting ending to a thrilling game. Tevin Coleman had another monstrous rushing performance, as Indiana fell 45-42 to Bowling Green on the road Saturday afternoon.

The fireworks were not present in the first half, as Bowling Green started the game with a 28 yard field goal from Tyler Tate. Nate Sudfeld capped Indiana's drive off of Fred Coppet's lost fumble to give Indiana the 7-3 lead.

Sudfeld then completed a 22 yard touchdown pass to J-Shun Harris II to make it 14-3. Bowling Green would slowly chip away at that lead with more field goals from Tate. Tate hit from 38, 45, and 47 to make it a 14-12 game at halftime.

Indiana's Aaron Del Grosso missed a 39 yard field goal, which proved to be the difference in the game, though it was not known at the time.

Bowling Green recaptured the lead when James Knapke hit Ronnie Moore for a 40 yard touchdown. Tevin Coleman responded with a 28 yard touchdown of his own to make it 21-19 for Indiana.

Knapke was intercepted on the Falcons' next drive by Nick Mangieri, but Indiana was stopped on down so the turnover did not lead to any damage. Travis Greene then ran in from 5 yards out for the Falcons to get the lead back at 26-21. However, Coleman broke off a 46 yard scamper to give Indiana the lead right back at 28-26.

Bowling Green opened the final quarter by going for it on fourth and goal from the one and getting the touchdown run from Fred Coppet. Knapke failed on the two point conversion to have the lead stay at 32-28. Then Coleman broke off another long run, this one from 31 yards out to make it a 35-32 Indiana lead.

On Bowling Green's next drive, they went for it on fourth and four from the Indiana 35, but could not complete the pass. Indiana looked poised to finally put some distance between the two teams, but Coleman's fumble was recovered by Ryland Ward at the Bowling Green 12 yard line. The Falcons took full advantage of the gift with Knapke's 31 yard touchdown pass to Ryan Burbrink to make it 39-35.

Indiana came right back down the field and were faced with a fourth and goal from the one. Nate Sudfeld leaped over the top and easily extended the ball over the goal line, but they left far too much time for Bowling Green's offense with a 42-39 lead. The Falcons drove 88 yards in 11 plays and were aided by two pass interference calls against Indiana to take the lead. Knapke's two yard touchdown pass to Roger Lewis was followed up with a blocked extra point by Indiana.

It would be enough for the Falcons as Nate Sudfeld's desperation heave was knocked down and Bowling Green won 45-42.

Sudfeld had a very good game going 31 of 41 for 347 yards and a touchdown. He also ran 7 times for 27 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tevin Coleman finished with 190 yards and 3 touchdowns on 24 carries. He did have the fumble in the fourth quarter, but he has been a beast for Indiana so far this year.

Shane Wynn led the Hoosiers in receiving with 10 catches for 139 yards. J-Shun Harris II had 7 catches for 68 yards and a touchdown.

James Knapke threw an astounding 73 times while completing 46 passes. He finished with 395 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He also ran 8 times for 37 yards. Travis Greene finished with 123 yards and a touchdown on 24 rushes.

Roger Lewis had 16 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Burbrink added 6 catches for 80 yards and a touchdown while Ronnie Moore finished with 6 catches for 72 yards and a touchdown.

Indiana (1-1) continues the dismal season the Big Ten has faced in 2014. They have another road game next week at SEC opponent Missouri (3-0). Bowling Green (2-1) will have another Big Ten opponent next week on the road in the Wisconsin Badgers (1-1).
