In the Pistons' convincing win over the Miami Heat, D.J. Augustin looked like a man on a mission, specifically in the first half. Augustin was pushing it in transition like he was running a marathon, either setting up his teammates for easy baskets or finishing the break himself. Detroit's defense, mixed with Augustin's transition offense, allowed the Pistons to end the first quarter on a 25-1 run, a run that they never looked back from.

Other than Augustin, who finished with 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting and 13 assists, no one else for Detroit played outstanding. It was just a great team effort. All five starters scored double-digit points, and Andre Drummond also had a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 18 and Kyle Singler chipped in 13, including three three-point shots. The final starter, Greg Monroe, finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Miami was led by Chris Bosh and no one else, really. Bosh finished the night with 34 points on 14 of 23 shooting, including very hot first and third quarters. Hassan Whiteside did have a double-double, with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and five blocks, but he struggled a lot on the offensive end, only making 5 of 12 shots. Other than Whiteside, no one on the Heat finished with more than five rebounds. Miami's struggles on the glass were the main reason that Detroit was able to win this game so easily.

Detroit will take their momentum into Indiana tomorrow, seeking to win their third game in a row against the Pacers. Miami also plays tomorrow, traveling to Minnesota to play a Timberwolves team with only eight wins all season. Both teams could win tomorrow, but Detroit definitely won today, with ease.
