Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest, will undergo a name change once again. World Peace announced on his Twitter account that he will be changing his name soon.
“New Chinese name coming soon. You guys are going to love it!!!”
So what are we going to call him now?
Panda Friend.
That will be his new name. World Peace, or Friend, signed a one-year, $1.43 million contract with a Chinese team, the Sichuan Blue Whales, last week. His new name is in association with his new setting in China.
Panda Friend took a contract overseas in China to prove that he can still play and hopes to come back to the states after four months of play to land an NBA job.
One has to wonder if Panda Friend will change his name again once he returns to America. We cannot put anything past him. He is capable of anything that is outrageously insane.
Nevertheless, the class act that he is, Ron Artest or Metta World Peace or Panda Friend - whoever he is - will certainly entertain Chinese basketball fans in China with his crazy antics.
