Croatian power forward Dario Saric has been selected by the Orlando Magic as the 12th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, but has been immediately traded for Philadelphia 76ers' tenth pick, point guard Elfrid Payton.

The 6'10" European basketball veteran was named MVP and Finals MVP in the Adriatic League for Cibona Zagreb, where he averaged 16.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game to lead his club to the title.

However he currently has a three-year deal with Turkish team Anadolu Efes, which he signed just days before the NBA Draft, meaning the 76ers will have to pay the Euroleague side compensation if they want to buy out his contract.

Despite being just 20 years old, Saric has already won six different MVP awards in the last four years, as well as FIBA European Young Player of the Year last year, an award won four times by Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio and twice by Toronto Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas.

Saric will likely spend the next two seasons in Europe to improve his game before making the trip across the Atlantic to the NBA, although when he does officially sign for the 76ers he will likely have to compete against Nerlens Noel for the power forward role in Philadelphia.
