It was an action packed episode of NXT this week which included the beginning of this year's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. There was plenty of talking points from the show but what were the five major things learned from this week's NXT.

5. Authors of Pain's run of domination continues

Ever since breaking onto the scene the Authors of Pain have been destroying everyone they have come across with nobody even managing to cause them any problems. That didn't change this week when the dominating duo competed in the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The Authors of Pain took on two members of the CWC, the Bollywood Boyz who teamed up for the first time in NXT and were simply laid to waste in what was a routine victory for the upcoming tag team.

4. Samoa Joe won't wait for an answer

The former NXT Champion has been on a wrecking path ever since losing his championship and has been holding William Regal at ransom ever since wiping out the current champion, Shinsuke Nakamura. Joe has demanded that Regal either provides him with the championship or Nakamura for a title match and has been beating up some of Regal's hottest prospects ever since.

This week was the turn of Dan Matha, the upcoming talent who has been hyped up for several weeks was set to make his debut until Samoa Joe turned up and laid waste to him before he could even begin his first ever match.

3. The Revival move into the next round

The NXT Tag Team Champions progressed in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic by defeating Andrade Almas and Cedric Alexander in the night's main event. The Revival have to be considered as one of the favorites to win the entire tournament and they continue to perform at an incredible level, standing as one of the best teams in the company.

2. NXT continue to work on the women's division

There has been something missing in the NXT women's division since the brand split and so far NXT has failed to fill the void left by Bayley, Alexa Bliss, and Nia Jax. This week the developmental brand continued to try and solve the mystery by introducing the pairing of Australian wrestlers, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce. Both women have been around NXT for some time now and are finally being put together and look set to be used in a prominent fashion which hopefully will begin to rebuild the division.

1. Andrade 'Cien' Almas takes out his partner

Since debuting in NXT there has been something missing from Andrade Almas' character. The fans haven't connected with him and despite him being a face, Almas has received boos from the NXT Universe and this week they finally happened for good reason as he made a drastic change to his character, finally turning heel.

Following the defeat in the main event, Almas took out his partner, Cedric Alexander and beat up the former CWC star, taking him out by throwing him onto the steel stairs, making a real statement of intent about what the future looks like for him. Hopefully, now Almas can begin to show his ability and charisma and a feud with someone as talented and popular as Alexander will be the perfect start for him.
