SummerSlam had come to an end and due to the negative backlash that the PPV received, the pressure was on RAW to deliver a great show. Sadly, this weeks episode of the red brand fell short on that goal, but whilst the show wasn't amazing it also wasn't a poor one. So let's take a look at the five things we learned from this weeks episode of RAW.

5. Finn Balor relinquishes the Universal Championship

Monday Night Raw started in an emotional way as it was revealed Finn Balor would have to relinquish his Universal Championship, less than 24 hours after he had won the belt at SummerSlam.

After all his hard work throughout his career it was a tough pill to swallow for the Demon King and one that fans didn't want to see as he revealed he would be gone for at least 6 months, before promising he will regain the belt on his return.

4. The Dudley Boyz future isn't clear

One of the most anticipated moments of this weeks Monday Night Raw was what the Dudley Boyz would have to say after they teased that this weeks RAW would be their final episode after returning to the company a year ago.

Most had believed this would be a setup for an angle in a similar way to Mark Henry's 'retirement' speech several years ago. Fans thought that this could be the WWE's way of starting to split the famous tag team and bring in the Bully Ray character that worked so well in TNA, but that was not the case.

Instead the former ECW stars gave an emotional speech before taking out the Shining Stars. It seemed like the Dudley's were genuine about their retirements and that this would be the final farewell until The Club ambushed the veterans, taking them out and ruining the moment. This has left an unclear picture as to whehter the Dudley's really are done with the company and have simply just put over a team on their way out, or if we will see them return for one final real feud.

3. Brock Lesnar will be punished

After his actions at SummerSlam, Stephanie McMahon confirmed that there will be reproductions for the Beast, Brock Lesnar. However, it was not revealed what those punishments would be or when they would be given out so it remains to be seen exactly what happens with this situation. Lesnar didn't appear on Raw and therefore we are still yet to hear a comment from him after attacking Shane McMahon, but this story is set to continue.

2. Raw signs the hottest free agent

Ever since the brand split took place there as been talk of free agents and both RAW and SmackDown have signed several talents (but not Heath Slater) and this week Mick Foley announced that RAW had just signed the hottest free agent on the market, Bayley!

The former NXT Women's Champion made her official main roster debut to a thunderous reception as she challenged Charlotte for the Women's Championship before beating her protoge, Dana Brooke, in her debut match.

With Sasha Banks out injured for the next month at least, bringing in Bayley is a wise move for WWE and she will add some real star power to the women's roster on RAW each week.

1. A Universal Championship match is set

With the Universal Championship now vacated, the pressure was on Mick Foley to find a new champion and he did so by creating a series of matches to create a fatal fourway next week for the title. The participants will be; Big Cass, Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, meaning one of those men will be crowned the new champion following next weeks main event match.
