Kendrick looked to start this match well but it was to no avail. After running straight at Nese he is met with a knee to the face. The veteran is being manhandled and is in serious trouble!

Up next sees The Brian Kendrick taking on Tony Nese. Both men were very impressive in their debut matches in the CWC as they dominated their opponents what will happen when they both clash tonight?

A relatively quick match between The Scotsman and The China-man but it is Noam Dar who advances and sends Ho Ho Lun packing.

Speak of the devil! Noam Dar locks in the Champagne Superknee Bar and leaves Ho Ho Lun with no choice but to submit!

Dar has halted the ability of Lun as he continues his attack on the legs of the Hong Kong man!

The Hong Kong performers has been victimised the majority of this match. If it continues at this rate, Noam Dar will be advancing with ease!

Noam Dar is met with a kick to his face from Ho Ho Lun, but manages to kick out at two following a pin-fall

Last week Noam Dar managed to pick up the victory via submission but took his time playing to the crowd. will it be fun and games for the Scottish performer against Ho Ho Lun?

A fantastic. and adrenaline fuelled opening match! Sees crowd favorite Jack Gallagher knocked out of The Cruiserweight Classic! Akira Tozawa despite being on the defensive for much of the match manages to overcome the technical skill of The Gentleman to advance.

The referee checks on Akira Tozawa to make sure he is able to continue as the 31-year-old struggles to get to his feet.

An unusual lock from Gallagher is making like hard work for Tozawa. The Englishman has severely impressed and has left both Mauro Ranello and Daniel Bryan stunned for words.

A stiff forearm gives The Japense man a moment to catch his breath and Gallagher is hit with a running kick to the face. Tozawa may only have one working leg but he is using it to full effect!

A huge crowd reaction for the popular Jack Gallagher, The Englishman is a clear favorite in this competition!

Akira Tozawa struggled to keep the resilient down, will he have better luck against The Gentleman this week?

Jack Gallagher captured the hearts of the fans in the opening round with one of the most impressive dropkicks enough to take down the dominant Fabian Aichner, can he repeat his victory tonight?

Last week produced a truly memorable match between Cedric Alexander Kota Ibushi, can this week's episode take it up a notch?

Three great matches in a great tournament that has put the focus back onto professional wrestling, what more could you ask for?

Will it be Kendrick or Nese advancing into round three? (image: Joel Lampkin)
Will it be Kendrick or Nese advancing into round three? (image: Joel Lampkin)

Nese was equally as vicious in his opening match as he dominated the timid Anthony Bennett, with the strength and power of The Premier Athlete far too much for him to handle. The 31-year-old was equally as fluent in his high flying ability and after nearly forcing his opponent to throw in the towel, he hit the 450 Splash to advance into the second round.

The 37-year-old last featured for WWE in 2008 but performed for NXT sporadically in 2014 and 2015 but after his showing in the opening round it was as if he had never left, but his performance was very different to his former style as he viciously attacked Raul Mendoza busting his mouth open, before forcing the Mexican to submit.

Closing the second episode of round two will be former WWE man The Brian Kendrick against Tony Nese, both men were impressive in their debut matches but how will their styles integrate against each other? Will the technical skills of the veteran be too much for the high-flying and powerful Premier Athlete to handle?

The youngster will have to summon all of his experience so far if he is to advance, his opening match was almost his last as his cockiness was almost his downfall against Gurv Sihra. Originating from Scotland via Israel, he will have to focus more on his opponent this week or he could be suffering an early exit.

Following that match will be Noam Dar versus Ho Ho Lun as the youngster competitor will take on one of the lightest in what may be a master-class of technical wrestling. The man from Hong Kong entered the tournament as an unknown performer but quickly got the crowd behind him against the villain Ariya Daivari.

The Gentleman, fought valiantly in the first round as he managed to overcome the agile, athletic and powerful Fabian Aichner to advance but his opponent this week will take much, much more to take down. Tozawa struggled in his opening match against Kenneth Johnson as the American refused to lie down and accept defeat, Gallagher will again be a tough opponent as the Englishman knows how to take a beating.

This week’s show should be equally as incredible as it pits six of the best competitors against each other with the chemistry hopefully as impressive as last week’s shows. Jack Gallagher who is firmly a crowd favorite will be going one-on-one against one of the hardest hitters in the competition Akira Tozawa.

The Game was one of the key men in staging the entire tournament and seemed to be impressed with what the Queen City’s Favorite Son managed to accomplish in just two matches. The veteran placed his arm around the youngster and now it seems almost certain that he will become a member of WWE sometime very soon.

A German-Suplex following by a Golden-Star powerbomb was enough for Ibushi to be crowned the victor of the match, but Alexander had captured the hearts of the Full Sail crowd and they were determined to show their appreciation. Chants of “Please Sign Cedric” ringed out as the 27-year-old trudged backstage but while he paused to take in the crowd’s approval, out came Triple H.

Fortunately for The Golden Star, it did not come to that. The former Ring of Honor performer gave it his all, and at one point looked as if he had the newest addition to NXT beaten but his resilience was too much to handle and after gambling it all from a top rope move, this was the mistake that allowed the former New Japan Pro Wrestling man to capitalize.

Following the opening match was Kota Ibushi taking on Cedric Alexander; two crowd favorites and despite there being only one victor of the match, come the final bell, both men were the winners. They pair fought hard, and it looked for a moment as if they could both be eliminated as they edged dangerously towards the time-limit.

Unfortunately for fans of the man from Japan, it would be the high-flying luchador who would be advancing, but both men got the crowd’s blood pumping and set the foundation for what may be the highlight of the entire tournament so far.

Last week’s show saw two men advance in both matches with the veteran Tajiri kicking things off against the gravity defying Gran Metalik in a truly exciting debut episode of the second round. The former WWE star gave it his all and showed that despite being 45-years-old he can still cut it with the most agile performers in the industry.

The Cruiserweight Classic continues this week and for good measure, VAVEL has provided live text commentary that is sure to only improve your viewing. This week’s episode continues in the second round and will feature three huge matches, but after last week’s show can they really take it up a notch?
