The profile of Ricochet has never been higher as following the Will Ospreay/Vader escapade it seems legends of the wrestling industry are continuing to comment on the 27-year-old.

There are few icons in the business but The Rock is firmly one of them, having taken over Hollywood it seems that The Great One is still looking out for the young stars of his former world.

Following an image on Instagram that saw Ricochet pose in similar fashion to The Most Electrifying Man in all of Sports Entertainment, the veteran decided to boost the status of the young performer.

He said "Came across this amazing post from a man who's out there grindin' and chasing that greatness. Thank you so much@kingricochet for your kind words."

The 44-year-old has always remained a humble figure and looked to get that across when addressing the high flying performer saying he himself is a "lucky dude" to have had the "success" he did in the "world of pro wrestling." With the veteran last making an appearance in the wrestling world at WrestleMania 32 when he defeated Eric Rowan in the quickest match in Mania' history it seems his legacy is continuing to inspire performers today, something he is "honored" about.

He continued "A world that I grew up in and will forever be in my blood. I'm honored to be your inspiration as you go down that long hard road for success."

The Rock offered some advice for the former Lucha Underground man as he said "Always stay above the garbage of backstage politics and always give the audience what they want. Whether you're a heel or baby face - going over or doing a job. Doesn't matter.. always give them what they want."

Few man in the industry have the ability to capture an audience and leave them hanging on every word but the semi-retired performer is certainly one of them.

He went on and said that the most important thing to remember is to "Have fun" before "wishing" Ricochet "all the success in the world" and hopes that he becomes a "big star."

The co-lead in comedy blockbuster Central Intelligence went on to say that The Future of Flight is "incredibly gifted" an "athletic worker" before jokingly saying "I thought I was cool doing a little candy ass forward roll into an arm bar."

The influence of The Rock

Despite wishing that the former icon of WWE would have randomly praised us, life does not work that way and it took a first comment from Ricochet for him to reply.

The New Japan Pro Wrestling performer posted the photo above and cited The Rock as an "influence" on his career label ling him as "the reason" he wanted to become a professional wrestler.

Well with Ricochet currently one of the most exciting performers in the world, thank you Rocky.

He continued to say that The Brahma Bull had everything the "charisma" the "in-ring work" knowing how to "work a crowd" and said that he "continues to inspire" him every day, before saying there was a "reason" he was called "The Great One."
