As we head into the first SmackDown Live of the new era in the WWE, there are a number of interesting and exciting storylines to look at.

Monday Night Raw announced that they would be launching a new championship after Dean Ambrose kept the WWE Championship on SmackDown Live. How will SmackDown Live General Manager, Daniel Bryan respond? Who will he give a shot against Dean Ambrose?

It promises to be exciting.

Who will challenge Dean Ambrose?

After defeating his former SHIELD brothers, Ambrose now finds himself alone on SmackDown Live. He needs a new number one contender to build a storyline with as the WWE heads into WWE SummerSlam.

It’s quite possible that SmackDown Live General Manager, Daniel Bryan, finds Ambrose an opponent tonight but how will he do it?

Bryan has preached that the new era of SmackDown Live is going to focus on the in-ring wrestling and performances. It’s quite possible that Bryan organizes a new number one contender tournament. He could also follow in the footsteps of Monday Night Raw with a number of multiple superstar matches. He could also organize a battle royal, who knows.

What’s next for John Cena?

The face that runs the place is back home on SmackDown Live. Cena, fresh off a win over The Club at WWE Battleground may still have AJ Styles on his trail, meaning that the SmackDown Live audience could possibly get to witness another classic match between two icons of this generation.

John Cena is reportedly cutting down on his time in the WWE, specifically at live events, but could that affect his future with SmackDown Live? It’s no secret that Cena is starting to show some wear and tear after years of carrying the WWE on his back.

Some would even argue that he has carried the whole industry of Sports Entertainment for the last decade.

Now, back home on SmackDown, Cena is walking into the unknown. Will AJ Styles stalk him once again, or could he move on to an upcoming star trying to make his name like Baron Corbin? We will find out tonight.

How will American Alpha adapt to SmackDown Live?

Are the former NXT Tag Team Champions ready, willing and Gable to cope with the adjustment to the WWE main roster? We’ll find out on SmackDown Live. One thing is for certain, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable are a fantastic team who should find success in the WWE.

With the WWE Tag Team Championships on Raw, Daniel Bryan may have to find a way to get teams like American Alpha a chance at holding some gold on SmackDown Live. Could we see something similar to the reintroduction of the WWE World Tag Team Championship exclusive to SmackDown? It’s possible.

Jordan and Gable will draw fans in with their style and heart, tonight is the beginning of an exciting time for themselves.

Will Becky Lynch and Natalya collide again?

Becky Lynch and Natalya haven’t been able to keep their hands off each other since WWE Money in the Bank. Lynch has been turned on by every partner she’s had in the WWE, Natalya is no different.

Now, as two of SmackDown Live’s leading women superstars, Lynch and Natalya will likely collide once again. Will Nattie do it alone or will Lynch finally have someone watch her back? We’ll find out on SmackDown Live!

Who will challenge The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship?

After defeating Darren Young at WWE Battleground, The Miz now holds the secondary championship on SmackDown Live. That puts a target on his back. There are a number of superstars that could challenge The Miz but how will they who it’s going to be?

Well, Daniel Bryan may not necessarily make the decision, someone could make it for him. Attacking a veteran like The Miz makes parts of the WWE Universe stand up and take the side of a superstar. It can give them a new following of fans.

It could be the perfect time to revitalize a superstar like Dolph Ziggler who has not been doing much recently, lost in the shuffle of the WWE. The brand extension is aimed at giving these superstars a new lease on life, a new freedom to perform. We’ll see where that goes tonight.
