The Brian Kendrick is one of the more recognizable names heading into The Cruiserweight Classic with the 37-year-old having spent six years on and off with the WWE between 2002 - 2008.

Now an experienced veteran of the industry, he will be hoping that his wisdom will be an advantage for him when he comes up against any future opponent who he predicts may 'freeze' under the pressure of the high-profile occasion.

On the opportunity to perform at the CWC

With many top names on offer at the competition, Kendrick is grateful to have been invited and is thankful for the opportunity to do what he 'loves'.

He said "I am thrilled it is a huge opportunity for me, it is a huge opportunity for wrestling. Being a cruiserweight obviously, I love it, if this is a success it could mean great things for cruiserweights and great things for independent wrestlers around the world."

With the level of talent that will be on display, the former World Tag team Champion (w/ Paul London) believes there exists a lot of potential for more tournament's in the future following the hopeful success of the performers.

He said, "They have brought in a bunch of talented young men and if they do what they can do then hopefully they will bring in heavyweights and tag-teams and all sorts, so there is a lot of potential."

Kendrick will be squaring off against Raul Mendoza in the opening episode of the CWC on July 13th.

On Experience as a WWE superstar

With Kendrick obviously a well-known name within the WWE Universe, it seems fitting that he would possess an advantage that many other performers will fail to have.

The veteran actually held the WWE Championship at one point during a 'scramble' match and is hoping his experience of performing in the squared circle will profit him in the future.

He said, "It is going to give me have to give me an advantage in some sense, just having the familiarity with the size of the ring, how tall the ropes are things like this (because) rings around the world are different sizes and WWE has the greatest rings in the world anyone who has been in them knows this but you need to know how to move in that ring."

With a lot of superstars more than 10 years his junior he believes some of them will 'freeze' up under the pressure of performing on such a high profile occasion but feels that there is no chance of the same happening to him because he is so 'comfortable' performing.

He continued "Besides being comfortable in front of an audience like that a lot of talented wrestlers might wind up freezing up under the pressure and I have already had my time freezing under pressure and I am over it."

On personal goals in the competition

With winning on the mind of almost every performer so far, Kendrick was no different as his intention to win was clear, feeling that anything less would be a 'failure'.

He said, "If I do not win it then it is a failure, I have been wrestling for 17-years now non-stop, this is what I do, this is what I love this is my purpose, it is to wrestle and be involved in wrestling."

With many people banking on the veteran to deliver and win the entire tournament, he feels that the 'efforts' of those that have got him this far deserve to be rewarded by victory.

He finished with "If I do not reward my trainer’s efforts by coming out on top then it will be a failure."
