The wrestling world was shocked last week when Roman Reigns not only lost his WWE World Heavyweight Championship but also his job - temporarily.

The 31-year-old violated the WWE wellness policy and was subsequently suspended, and many people have already weighed in on the issue.

'Stone Cold' Steve Austin offered his thoughts on the matter and seemed rather understanding of the whole situation but believes that Reigns will soon be back.

The Texas Rattlesnake is not known for his positive comments, even more so towards former World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns who he has stated in the past was 'carried' by other performers including AJ Styles.

Austin shared his thoughts on his suspension via an interview with ESPN Radio's Russello and Kanell Show in which he much like the rest of the WWE Universe was still 'unaware' as to why he was suspended.

The veteran did say that when he was backstage at last week's Monday Night Raw it was drug testing day adding spark to the belief that Roman had drugs within his body system - however, he offered some positive thoughts for Reigns as he said believes The Big Dog will 'come back another day'.

He said, "He got popped (punished) and that it just the way it is," he continued. "He owned it and he will live to come back another day. He owned it, so I think the kid did the right thing. Sometimes these things happen."

Update on the decision to have Reigns lose

Vince McMahon apparently knew of Reigns' test results before Money in the Bank (image:ringsidenews.com)

With fans still unsure of the majority of the situation the question-marks over whether backstage knew of the drug results prior to the Money in the Bank pay per view.

Reigns lost clean to his former Shield partner Seth Rollins and then it was the remaining ex-partner, Dean Ambrose, to walk away with the gold after he successfully cashed in on The Architect.

Vince McMahon however, was adamant that The Lunatic Fringe would be leaving Las Vegas as Champion, pinning Rollins to claim the ultimate victory.

However, Triple H also wanted the same but with a more loose finish as he suggested Ambrose could pin either of the two Shield members during the match to win the title.

The theory is that Vince knew of the drug test results beforehand and wanted Rollins to pin Reigns clean, possibly as punishment or to deepen the on-going feud between Rollins and Ambrose as pinning the victor of the match seems more personal, thus adding another layer to their disdain for one another.
