From expected jobbers to longest reigning WWE World Tag-team Champions, The New Day have been world beaters over the past year and the popular trio have found their groove and are still going strong.
The trio of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E, have connected with the crowd in a way that only the legendary tag teams do and the three men are not looking like alleviating their dominance anytime soon - but which superstar would Big E like to add to the faction?
On a fourth member of The New Day
The New Day will this Sunday lay their titles on the line at Money in the Bank in what is shaping up to be their toughest challenge yet as they defend the gold against Enzo and Cass, The Club (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) and The Vaudevillians (Aiden English & Simon Gotch).
The trio have the numbers advantage over the three other duos but adding a fourth member to the champions would surely give them a greater advantage - but which member would they choose?
Big E was pitched that exact question during a recent interview in which he claimed that the original intention was to see the stable grow beyond the trio and expand to a greater number of superstars.
Sasha Banks is the performer the former power lifter believes would be a perfect addition to the champions but feels that right now the timing would not be right.
He said, "We are all (The New Day) such big Sasha Banks fans, I think she would add a different dynamic."
Despite the excitement building the 30-year-old was quick to squash the what may have evolved as a demand for the former NXT Women's Champion to join the group as he said that The Boss is such a "Strong" and "beloved character" that he does not think she needs to be "surrounded by anyone."
It is likely that the four superstars will never end up in the same faction but Big E said in a final quote, "If we were forced to pick someone, it would be Sasha Banks."
On time machine and origin of ideas
The two-time tag-team champions are one of the more out-there stables with several promos relating to booty inspired cereal as well as a time machine created out of a cardboard box.
On time machine origination Big E said "We have a lot of weird ideas, but that one (time machine) was one of the few that did not come from us. It was a decision from creative, and I thought 'let's try to make it work."
He continued to say that he understands that their comedy is "not for everyone" and some people "did not care for it" but there were also people who "loved it" which is what their aim is as they try to "provide an alternative" rather than being "guys who" go out and "beat people up"
